TeacherJay on Baha'i

As a member of the Bahá’í Faith, I am using this section of the site to teach about the religion. Although a follower, I am not an expert on the religion. I have used the writings as much as possible to inform me in my writing and, when possible, have included excerpts.

This section has some background about the Faith, its followers, our beliefs, what we do, and how you can contact Bahá'ís in your area. The information presented on these pages can be found on other websites and in print. By posting it here, I am merely making it available to more people and presenting it in the same manner in which I would teach a lesson. I have done my best to not change the message or intent of any of the texts from which I have drawn upon. If you would like to see the sources for what I have written on these pages, please contact me.

Summary

This is a single page summary of the Baha'i Faith. While not as in-depth as the other pages, this is a good starting place if you are not already familiar with Baha'i.

The Teachings

Baha'is believe that the teachings are Baha'u'llah are for this modern age. This section first looks at some of the broader beliefs, and then uses the writings to explore some modern-day problems in the world.

The Activities

Baha'i, like all other religions has its fair share of activities, gatherings, holidays and customs. This section explains what these are, what there significance is, and how Baha'is celebrate.

The Houses of Worship

On every continent is a Baha'i House of Worship that serves as a house of prayer and worship for all religions of the world. Each of these temples are different and all are beautiful works of art.

The Journey

Entering the Baha'i Faith is a personal and spiritual journey. I have chosen to describe my own journey in this section and to describe how you can embark on your own journey in a quest for knowledge and understanding. Please be aware that everyone's journey will be different and yours may not lead you to the same place that mine did.
