The Houses of Worship

The Baha'is have constructed temples, commonly referred to as a House of Worship at different locations around the world. For the most part, Baha'is have focused on strengthening ties with communities rather than constructing buildings. With the exception of large cities, many communities do not have any physical building other than peoples to meet in, or as a symbol of the Faith. The Houses of Worship are exceptions, however.

The Houses of Worship are all distinctive in their design, yet promote the concepts of harmony and unity. All contain a central dome and have nine sides. The Houses of Worship are open to believers of al religions. There are no clergy, or sermons. They are places of quiet prayer and meditation.
